Guest Post : Google: That May Have Been A Core Ranking Algorithm Update; Which We Won't Confirm

Google's Gary Illyes said on Twitter, in response to my reports of the Google Halloween Zombie update that Google does not confirm core ranking algorithm updates and this may have been one of those.
Here is the set of Tweets:
Note, Gary is at the Google headquarters, I think for the TC summit but also for other things. So he is pretty close to the algorithm push people. Not that it says much.
He is not confirming that there was or was not an update. He is not confirming if there was one, if it was core algorithm related or search quality. He is just saying, that if this was core algorithm, then they would not confirm it.
I know I have emailed Google twice on this and Google has not confirmed anything. So maybe it is core algorithm ranking related or maybe we are all dreaming?

Google: Panda Algorithm Refresh Still Coming Soon

Jun 26, 2015 • 7:42 am | By Barry Schwartz

A little over three weeks ago, Google's Gary Illyes said on stage at SMX Advanced that the Panda data refresh is coming soon. He said, somewhere around 2, 3, or 4 weeks.

So as the fourth week approaches, SEOs and Webmasters are getting anxious - which is why Gary didn't want to mention how soon. Google needs to approve and push the change and that might take a week or it might be postponed for weeks on end.

Gary replied to questions about it on Twitter today saying, "And that's kids, why I should stop giving timeframes." He added, "yes, it's coming soon as far as I know."

This is in regards to Panda.

I currently do not see any signs of Panda rolling out today, but that might change later on today or next week. But at this moment, I see no Panda update signs. But do not worry, it is coming soon.
